New lender hired to lead ag lending division at local bank

Clinton, IL - First National Bank and Trust Company has hired Jon Blockman to serve at VP of Ag and Business Banking.

As VP of Ag and Business Banking, Blockman will manage First National Bank and Trust Company’s ag and commercial portfolio. He will generate new relationships and nurture existing ones as he grows the portfolio. Blockman prides himself on adding value to his client’s operations and feeling a part of their team.  

Blockman will be joining First National Bank and Trust Company from the agriculture industry, most recently serving as an Ag Lender in Champaign, IL.

Blockman and his wife, Leslie, have a “funny, beautiful and busy” 18 month old daughter, Genevieve. The family resides in Bloomington, IL where Blockman enjoys spending his spare time with his family, playing golf and working on their 100 year old home.

“What stood out to me was the strong appreciation and respect this institution has toward the agriculture industry,” Blockman stated about First National Bank and Trust Company. “In times when other institutions are shying away, we are holding strong with these relationships and wanting to grow.”

Blockman expressed his passion for agriculture has made him appreciate people’s stories on how they got to where they are. He has enjoyed having a positive impact on his client’s lives.
